Jackie Turnure and I are preparing to present a showcase of the making of Stolen Life at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) in Melbourne on the coming weekend. We’re really looking forward to it. It will be the first opportunity to show off what we have done.
I really like coming to an event like this with something finished and ready to show. I don’t know if I’d have the same enthusiasm for travelling all over the place trying to get an idea off the ground.
Enterprising Australian film producers frequently attend overseas film markets to generate interest in their projects and to see what the state of the industry is. I heard of two separate Australian producers who knew each other in Sydney. They bumped into each other at a European film market. In the energised environment they got talking made a deal to do a film together and went back home to Sydney to make it.
Stolen Life is a feature length Machinima movie starring Claudia Black of Stargate and Farscape and Chris Jones of Tex Murphy.
